On behalf of the Management Committee and Staff of EMRS Jonai, I offer my hearty welcome to EMRS Jonai, a fully government-funded boarding schools, dedicated for quality education of tribal student. The School is established by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, and managed by an autonomous body called theNational Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) . The EMRS, Jonai is started from the academic year 2025-26 to impart quality education to ST children in remote areas in order to enable them to avail the opportunities in high and professional educational courses and get employment in various sectors. The school focuses not only on academic education but also on all-round development of the tribal students

Ekalavya Model Residential School (EMRS) is a quality residential school established by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and managed by the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS).

Located in Purana Jelom, Pasighat Road, Jonai, Dhemaji District, the school started in Academic Year 2025-26 with 60 students of Class VI, providing free residential education from Class VI to XII.
